Findlay Group’s Focus is Enriching Education

The Ohio Association for Gifted Children (OAGC) has named Findlay Enrichment Programs, Inc. as its 2010 Affiliate of the Year. A group of parents established the local organization in 1988 to “actively support and encourage educational enrichment programs for the children of Findlay City Schools.” Since that time, teachers and community members have signed on to help further the tradition of excellence in education. Findlay Enrichment Programs, Inc. coordinates and sponsors several learning opportunities, including:
• Family Science Night – Held in the Findlay High School cafeteria, this event
features hands-on science experiments for students and their families.
• Enrichment activities for students in grades K-8 on a three-year rotation. Topics
for the next three years include COSI (intermediate schools), The Toledo Zoo
(primary schools), and author/illustrator (middle schools).
• Creativity Clubs – Students in grades 3-5 meet with volunteers to engage in
activities to stimulate creative thinking.
• Women in Math and Science seminar for girls in grades 7 and 8
• Camp Discovery, Science Communities, Camp World, Engineering with Legos,
and many other “enriching” projects.
