Celebrating Diversity

Communities are just better places when there’s an appreciation of diverse cultures, races, and religions. A great educational resource, promoting respect and tolerance, is the Black Heritage Library & Multicultural Center. Located at 817 Harmon Street the Center is hosting “A Tapestry of Hope” on Sunday, November 13th from 11a.m.-3p.m. Described as a, “multicultural celebration of food, art, music and dance from around the world,” the event is family-friendly and presents an opportunity to visit the Center and explore what it has to offer. Admission is $7 per person. The Black Heritage Library and Multicultural Center houses an impressive array of historic memorabilia, print, sculpture, fabrics and crafts. The library itself boasts a collection of more than 3,500 source books and references. Tours and school field trips are welcome throughout the year.
