Resembling a shopping mall for services, the Family Center has launched a website targeting both individuals in need and those who want to provide help in the way of donations or volunteering. By visiting www.hancockfamilycenter.org, browsers can find out where to receive prenatal care, or learn where to donate children’s books.
Located at 1800 N. Blanchard Street in Findlay, The Family Center is home to 14 agencies that provide services ranging from food, clothing, and housing assistance to medical care and legal guidance. The new website also features a building layout and maps from each town in Hancock County.
“The site was designed with two things in mind,” says Kathy Kreuchauf, president of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. “First,we anted to communicate what services are available at the FamilyCenter. Second, we needed to communicate the many different ways people can support the Family Center and its agencies.”
Individuals can donate online directly to the Family Center Endowment Fund to support the ongoing expenses of operating the facility. The FamilyCenter is owned and operated by Hancock Properties, Inc., a supporting organization of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. Founded in 2006, The Family Center is one of only a few hundred similarfacilities nationwide.
“As people begin to use the website, we’ll be asking for feedback sothat we can add new features and make it as user-friendly as possible,” says Kevin Richardson, Family Center building manager.
