Amid the hustle and bustle of the season, teens and pre-teens need to remember that all-important holiday mantra. . .basketball! The Findlay YMCA is helping kids keep their focus on the game with a two-league offering; one for high school students and the other for boys and girls in the 5th and 6th grades.
The younger teams will play one hour on Saturdays beginning January 15th. Fifth graders will take the court from 9AM-11AM and sixth grade will play from 11AM-3PM. All games will be played at Glenwood Middle School, but coaches must find their own practice facility. Cost is $30 for Y youth membership holders; $60 for non-members, and family membership holders are free. Registration deadline is December 15th. The Y high school season will run from January 23, 2011 through the end of March. Games will be played on Saturday mornings and early afternoons. Players must make their own teams and must have all information submitted by January 15th. Cost is $30 for all YMCA members and $60 for non-members.
Registration forms are available at the Findlay YMCA, 300 E. Lincoln Street. For more information on both leagues, contact Eric Trout, Youth/Sports Director, 419-422-4424 oretrout@findlayymca.com
