A “one stop shop” for medical needs

It never fails.  Kids (and parents, too) become ill or injured at night or on a weekend when the family physician’s office is closed.  Going to an urgent care facility is always an option, but your medical records may not be accessible.  Now, ProMedica Health System and Northwest Ohio Orthopedics and Sports Medicine are offering the “best of both worlds,” in a new location at 15054 U.S. 224 East, Findlay.   Families can find a physician for their primary care needs and know their files will be available if an urgent care visit is necessary.

“We were in need of additional space as we saw a nearly 65 per cent increase in the number of patients cared for in our facility last year alone,” says Matt Boehm, president, NWO Health Partners.  “The ability to renovate an existing building that was sitting empty adjacent to our campus was an added bonus.”

The building, a former Saturn dealership, features nearly 10,000 square feet of space accommodating more treatment rooms, onsite lab draws, and digital X-rays for ease in sharing images.  Services housed in the facility include ProMedica UrgentCare, OccuHealth, and NWO Family Medicine.  Cost of the renovation is estimated at $2.5 million.

Andy Noel, clinical manager, NWO Health Partners, adds, “Patients can establish themselves with a primary care provider, and yet as an urgent care or walk-in patient, their family practice file will be accessible on the weekend or in
the evenings.”

ProMedica Urgent Care, OccuHealth and NWO Family Medicine moved from their former location at 7595 C.R. 236 in late January.  A community open house was held in the new building which opened to patients on January 24th.  With an emphasis on convenience for patients, the practices are offering extended hours and even a call ahead option to decrease wait times and accommodate busy schedules.
