The COVID-19 pandemic is not stopping LGBTQ+ Spectrum of Findlay from showing its pride. The organization has multiple virtual Pride events scheduled for late-May and throughout June.
Virtual Street Painting
On Sunday, May 31, a virtual street painting event will be taking place in downtown Findlay on West Main Cross Street and Main Street. People will be able to tune in live to the LGBTQ+ Spectrum of Findlay Facebook page from 6-8 p.m. to watch as the organization paints the town with pride.
During the celebration, a pop-up curbside shop will offer locals a chance to watch the street painting and pick up Pride merchandise. Those wishing to order merchandise online can pick it up at the pop-up shop.
Virtual PRIDE Rocks
Finally, on Wednesday, June 3, from 7-8 p.m. will be Virtual PRIDE Rocks via Zoom. Those wanting to join can grab some rocks and paint them with their best Pride designs.
The Pride rocks will then be placed throughout Findlay for people to find and share on social media.
Those interested in participating in Virtual Pride Rocks can find more information, including the Zoom link, to join on the LGBTQ+ Spectrum of Findlay website.
Rainbow hunt
June is Pride Month, and to celebrate LGBTQ+ Spectrum of Findlay is hosting a rainbow hunt throughout the city.
The organization is asking anyone who would like to participate in painting a rainbow, hang a rainbow photo from their windows, or place a rainbow anywhere visible from the street.
Participants can then travel around Findlay and share photos of the rainbows they find on social media using the hashtag, #FindlayPride.
