Sounds just like a broken record!

Seems the generous students at The University of Findlay weren’t content with merely collecting 17,825 pounds of food last year for a local charity. Setting out to break their national record for the most food collected in a 12-hour period, UF students shattered their previous statistics by collecting 26,324 pounds of food on November 10, 2010 for Chopin Hall in Findlay.

The collection was all part of Helping Hands Across America, a program coordinated by Sodexo, the University’s dining service. In 2009, The University of Findlay topped Sodexo’s national campus competition. In 2007, the University was second in the nation in the amount of donations collected, and doubled their donations in 2008, ranking third among college campuses nationwide.

UF’s chapter of Habitat for Humanity, Rotaract Club, Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and UFOSEA (UF Ohio Student Education Association) helped collect donations, while area grocers, other businesses and individuals also donated food.
